PARENT INVOLVEMENT/COMMUNICATION
PARENT COMMITTEE
:: PARENT EDUCATION COMMITTEE

COMMUNICATION

BKECC believes we are in a partnership with our families. Effective communication models will be implemented throughout the year and may be in the form of a newsletter, email listserv and class calendars. Verbal communication or daily notes may be used to communicate about your child's day. If there is any special instruction for your child, please write a note so that it can be put it in your child's folder.

Please be assured that our lines of communication are always open and that we welcome and value your comments, questions, and suggestions throughout the year. If you have any questions, please call me at (301) 251-0455, or stop by the school office.

Parent Information Board and Parenting News: Items of interest such as snack menus, enrichment and other important information are on the Parent Information Board in the ECC hallway next to the ECC office. Parenting articles and resources can be found in the ECC office.

We want to encourage as much parent involvement as possible. We hope you will join our Parent Committee and volunteer your time. We welcome any contribution parents can make to benefit our programs. There is no greater thrill for a child than to have his/her mom or dad, grandma or grandpa be a special guest visit their classroom. We also encourage participation on Friday Shabbats and field trips.

PARENT COMMITTEE

The function of the Parent Committee is to provide parents with opportunities to be involved in activities, events, and programs for the ECC. In addition to extracurricular activities throughout the school year, the Committee raises funds to provide additional materials and programs.

Membership: All parents are welcome to become members of the Parent Committee. Meetings are held on a monthly basis. Anyone interested in participating should contact the Early Childhood Center Director.

Dues: Annual dues are $25.00 per child and are assessed at the beginning of each school year. This assessment provides working capital for the Parent Committee, and offsets the costs for some activities during the year.

Room Parent: The Parent Committee selects room parents to help solicit volunteers for special events or help the classroom teachers if they have requests.
